Army Records was a DIY label. It managed one singles. It
issued singles in an ELM-000 numerical series. ELM maybe a Reference to the old ground, Elm Park was a
football stadium in the West Reading district of Reading, Berkshire, England.
The stadium was the home of Reading Football Club from 1896 to 1998. In 1998
they moved to the new Madejski Stadium. This was a one-sided, blue vinyl
Single, featuring two mixes of the same song. It was a tribute to Reading FC
goalkeeper Neil 'Shaka' Hislop. Hislop was born 22 February 1969 in
Hackney London, and was a former football goalkeeper. The majority of
his career was spent in the top division in England where he was a part of the
Newcastle United team which finished second in the Premier League for two
successive seasons under Kevin Keegan's first tenure. Before this he played for
Reading where he was on the losing side in the 1st Division Play-Offs despite
finishing second overall (which became an automatic promotion slot the following
season). He later played for West Ham United on two separate occasions
(receiving an FA Cup Runner-up medal during his second term in 2006) and also
Portsmouth (where he won the 1st Division in 2002/03). Distributed By Blue Army
