First Warning Records was a DIY label. It managed one single. It
issued singles in an LOC-000 numerical series. "Step into Christmas"
is a Christmas song written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, and performed by
Elton John. It was released as a stand-alone single in November 1973 with the
song "Ho, Ho, Ho (Who'd Be a Turkey at Christmas)" as the B-side. It peaked at
No. 24 on the UK Singles Chart. "Step into Christmas" was covered by the band
The Wedding Present on their 1992 album Hit Parade II. The Wedding Present are a
British indie rock group based in Leeds, England, formed in 1985 from the ashes
of the Lost Pandas. The band's music has evolved from fast-paced indie rock in
the vein of their most obvious influences The Fall, Buzzcocks and Gang of Four
to more varied forms. Throughout their career, they have been led by vocalist
and guitarist David Gedge, the band's only constant member. Distributed
