Major label: Fontana
label was largely dormant after 1974, although in 1980-81 it was used for
releases by Sector 27 and Dennis Bovell. Fontana was revived in the late 1980s
as an outlet for acts such as Tears for Fears, The Teardrop Explodes, Pere Ubu,
Cocteau Twins and Swing Out Sister, and was active in the 1990s, releasing music
for acts such as House of Love, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Ocean Colour Scene and
James. It is currently an active division of Fontana Distribution, using the
same logo. The label's only artists as of March 2013 are Brooke Hogan and
Papoose. The Fontana Singles Box Set Volume 1 - Hits And Rarities was 12 x
7" containing reissues of 12 Fontana singles from The High Numbers, Jimmy Page,
The Herd, The Troggs, The Spencer Davis Group, The Merseybeats, The
Misunderstood, Millie, The Pretty Things,Slade, Bluesology and Alexis Korner.
Each single was issued in a die cut Fontana company sleeve and came with a
cardboard bio.

Volume 2 - Hits And Rarities. 12 x 7" containing reissues of 10 Fontana singles
from Colosseum, The Pretty Things, DDDBM&T, The Merseys, The Mindbenders,
The Troggs, The Spencer Davis Group, Alex Harvey, Jimmy Cliff and Nicky Hopkins
plus 2 singles which were previously issued on the Philips label by The Walker
Brothers and Scott Walker.Each single was issued in a die cut Fontana company
sleeve and came with a cardboard bio. Distributed By Polygram
Records.
