RECORDS
Independent label: N.T.B Records managed two singles. It issued singles in an
N.T.B-1000 numerical series. The Betterdays Were a West Country R&B Band
from Plymouth Devon. Band Members: Frank Tyler (drums), Richard Brozcek
(guitar), Bob Pitcher (harmonica, piano, organ, guitar), Mike Weston (guitar,
bass guitar), Mike "Shane" Hayne (vocals). The Betterdays formed in 1960, their
first recording was an ep released on the Oak label which featured Hush Your
Mouth,Here 'Tis and Cracking Up, their second was Honey What's Wrong b/w Don't
Want That. Until now none of these recordings have ever been issued. It was much
later, in 1965, when they actually recorded the single Don't Want That b/w Here
'Tis which were different versions to that on the Oak ep. Honey What's Wrong has
been taken from the original acetate and is a raving version o the old Jimmy
Reed number whilst Don't want That was the A side of the Betterdays' only
single. The opening number on side two was the flipside. Hush Your Mouth has
also been taken from an original acetate. Distributed By N.T.B
Records.
