Independent label: Shinkansen Recordings is an independent record label which was founded by Matt Haynes in 1996, after disbanding Sarah Records. The label proceeded to release new recordings by ex-Sarah artists (including Blueboy and Harvey Williams) as well as other acts including Fosca and Tompot Blenny. The label was originally going to be called "Metropolitan", but there was already a record label of that name. Shinkansen is named after the Japanese "bullet train". It issued singles in an TS-000 numerical series, Please Note All Releses After 19 Are Cds. Distributed By SRD Records.
