The Mere Mortals Records was a DIY label formed by the band with the same name. It managed two singles. It issued singles in an MERE-0 numerical series. The Mere Mortals was an alternative rock band from Portlaoise which was active during the latter part of the 1980s and the early part of the 1990s. The group was originally called The Drowning Fish but decided on a name change early on in its career. The line up featured Paul Marron [Vocals], Paul Brophy [Guitar & Vocals], Ollie Plunkett [Guitar], Des Rigney [Bass Guitar], Pat Critchley [Percussion & Accordion] and Dick Duff [Drums].
