Independent label: Perspective Records Formed By Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis In
Partnership With A & M Records In 1991. Discontinued In 1997, Although The
Label Name Continued To Be Used Occassionally After This Date, Mainly For
Releases By Artists That Were Signed To The Label When It Was Active. While it
was officially affiliated with the American division of A&M, Perspective
titles were also issued via A & M Records Ltd. (UK). The company was
dismantled, and absorbed into A&M Records, in early 1999—per the merger of
A&M's PolyGram parent and Universal Music Group. Distributed
By A&M Records.
