Independent Wiiija was a British independent record
label founded in 1988 by Pete, Nigel & Jude staff from the Rough Trade Shop
in Notting Hill, London. The name Wiiija is a corruption of W11 1JA, the
postcode of the Rough Trade Shop in Talbot Street. Wiiija Records was a
subsidiary of Beggars Banquet Records from 1996 and remained active until the
early 2000s. KARREN 001 Was a Joint EP release
between Elemental Records and Wiiija Records, free with Ablaze! Magazine. Plain
white paper sleeve. Subsequently sold mail-order via Wiiija Records. Distributed
By RTM Records.
